Q: How does it work?

A: A customer can generate donations for programs simply by doing business with the vendors on this secure website. Select a benefiting program and the donation process is automatic when purchasing products, gift certificates or credit vouchers. When doing business with our service providers simply print the pledge form that is offered and present it to them upon successful business. Our customers need not register and they can shop from the convenience of their home or office.

Q: What donation amount is provided to programs?

A: Generally, a 10% donation is generated when purchasing products from the HelpMyTeam.com (HMT) website. This is possible because the merchants on this site have discounted their product prices to us. Due to the service nature of many businesses, 10% is not practical or feasible so a pledge system is used. The pledge system donation amounts can be substantial.

Q: Does a program need to register?

A: Only a registered team or program may receive a donation through HMT. A donation will be sent in the customer's name to the school district, PTO or organization and reserved for the program selected. The school district, PTO or organization will receive itemized donation information when they receive their monthly check.

Q: What is the "underdog fund"?

A: This fund can be selected if you want to shop on our website but don't have a preferred team or program to receive a donation. This fund will be donated to the less benefited schools and programs registered with us. The receiving program may also be selected from "wish list" letters or e-mails sent to us by programs with special and timely needs. We hope this fund is selected often.

Q: What is a business category list?

A: A list showing the many types of businesses on the website. If you click on a category, the participating businesses in that category are displayed.

Q: What is a merchant storefront?

A: Clicking "More Info" on a retailer will open up a "storefront" which lists products for sale from that vendor. Each product can be "clicked" on and opened for detailed product information, pricing, and a photo. From here you can "add to cart" for purchasing.

Q: How is a service provider listed?

A: If you click on any "service provider" from a business category selected, a banner will appear that contains a scanned business card and/or other relevant information desired by the vendor for the listing. This information can include the business name, logo, slogan, bio, address, phone numbers, web address, e-mail address, and an "optional" website link. You can click on the banner for more information and photos about services offered. A pledge form is offered for the customer to print from the website for use after successful business, or you can ask your vendor to provide this form to you.

Q: What is a pledge form?

A: This form is under the control of the customer. It will have the selected vendor's business name printed on it and is offered for the customer to print when viewing most service provider listings. After a fee has been paid to the vendor, the customer presents the form and the vendor enters a pledge amount and signs the form, the customer then mails or faxes the form to HelpMyTeam. The vendors on our site have agreed to fulfill the pledge within 14 days of a successful business transaction.

Q: What is a business to business category?

A: If you have a business that strictly engages other businesses and not the general public, you may also generate a donation for a program by doing business with a registered business in this category. We would like to suggest the "Underdog Fund" to be benefitted, but any eligible program of interest could be drawn from a hat at the office, and the hat re-loaded when emptied.

Q: What is a credit voucher?

A: A type of store credit issued by vendors on our website. Vouchers are bought and used at the full face value, but a vendor may restrict their use to certain days or certain items. The printed receipt from this website is used as the credit voucher for many vendors.

Q: Can I buy gift certificates from HelpMyTeam.com?

A: Many vendors offer gift certificates for purchase on HMT. They are redeemable through the issuing vendor only.

Q: Are refunds available?

A: A full refund or exchange is available on all products purchased on the HelpMyTeam.com website for 30 days after purchase. Any refund or exchange available after thirty days will be according to the vendor's policy and, if available, will have a fee of 16% charged against it because a 10% donation has been deducted for a benefiting program and because expenses have been incurred by HelpMyTeam.com.

Q: Can I shop without selecting a program to benefit?

A: A customer shopping without selecting a program to be benefitted will automatically have 55% of any donation generated put into the Underdog Fund, 30% into programs and causes selected by HMT management, and 15% into website maintenance and enhancement.

Q: Are my donations tax-deductible?

A: Please consult with your tax professional for advice on which deductions may apply to you. The school district's athletic director, PTO or organization will have full and detailed information on received donations generated on your behalf.
